PRIVY COUNCIL OFFICE,
WHITEHALL, S. W. 1.
2 TIL
22nd October, 1937.

Dear Gent,
Whitelegge has sent me copies of the Hong
Kong Pharmacy and Poisons Ordinance, 1937, and of
the correspondence on the subject. I am afraid,
however, that we are in the same position as the
Home Office and not qualified to criticise
Colonial legislation.
Part I of the Ordinance
follows largely Part I of the Poisons and
Pharmacy Act, 1933, with which we are concerned,
but the modifications which have been made seem
designed to adapt the provisions to local
conditions of which we have no knowledge.
Yours sincerely,
Filiadatter
G.4.J. Gent, Esq., D.S.O., 0.B.E., M.C., COLONIAL OFFICE.
